Transitioning Your System

There are three steps to putting your existing smarthome system under the care of Cloud9 Smart:

1. Smart Design: To properly maintain your system, first we need to uncover what’s there. A site visit and system audit gives us an accurate viewpoint of your home’s technology, which we use to build and deliver a design. Our proposed design uses your existing equipment where possible, along with any upgrades we consider necessary for a reliable and high performing system.

2. Smart Deployment: Our design is refined until you approve it, at which point we order all necessary equipment to our facility in Union Square, where programming and stress-testing takes place. Once your equipment goes through this process it is delivered and installed. Finally, settings are tweaked to your preferences and you are trained on your improved system.

3. SmartCare: Cloud9 Smart will handle your ongoing software updates, patch management, and monitoring of your security & Internet speed. Unlimited remote troubleshooting is included, along with bi-annual site visits and quarterly system health reports. Cloud9 Smart will also handle the logistics of all model for model hardware replacement in the event of failure.

Our approach to Home Automation in 90 seconds

  • “How likely would you be to recommend Cloud9 to someone else?” 94%

We went with Cloud9 Smart because they didn’t make us feel like Luddites… They were very enthusiastic about the whole thing, which made the process fun and collaborative. Fernando clearly cares about all of the technology, and how it works.

Owner - Converted Firehouse

I have dealt over the years with many promising contractors and subs only to be disappointed with their work, communication, timeline, etc. With Fernando and his team, my journey has been nearly flawless… I have used them on 4 projects so far. If I were to buy another home, I would not look to anyone else.

We are very happy, in fact we have already recommended you! No surprises. Everything was great and communication was smooth. Bruce in particular was excellent to work with.

The Wi-Fi Breach: Two Rules

Most devices on Wi-Fi use one protocol to keep your communication secure. It's called WPA2, and it has just been hacked. Much like last month's Equifax breach the effect is so widespread the question is not whether you've been affected (you should assume you have),...

Hands On: Apple HomeKit

Apple World Trade Center is one of the few locations currently showcasing HomeKit - Apple's attempt at a smarthome standard. We visited the HomeKit Experience Center in WTC's transportation hub. This was our experience... We knew the software would be great, and it...

The real cost of a Tesla roof

When Tesla unveiled their Solar Roof tiles last fall we all had the same question: How much? Consumer Reports calculated a max cost of $24.50 per square foot to compete in the market. Tesla just revealed the price, and running the same math came in at an impressive...

The remote done right

Nothing has suffered from over-engineering more than the remote control. Too often more control leads to more buttons crammed into the same space, until ergonomics and user experience fall by the wayside. App-based remotes fare better in depth of control, but need to...

Tiny Home Tech

Moving into a tiny house seems like the most charming idea you'd immediately regret. I've lived in small enough spaces to know that a little forced minimalism is healthy, but the inability to turn around without bumping into your significant other is not. Happiness in...

Cloud9 wins Home of the Year 2nd year in a row

We're proud to have won an Electronic House Home of the Year award again - This time in the Unique Space category: This 1800’s barn was relocated from Vermont to the edge of the Catskills. Every beam was labeled and carefully reconstructed, but not before it was...
